Biography

Dr Jeremy Coles graduated in Physics from the University of Oxford and went on to further studies in astrophysics (cosmological modelling) and then high-energy physics, with a particular interest in placing experimental limits on supersymmetric and cosmological theories. Following a period in industry as a software developer and analyst, he moved to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK, and then to the University of Cambridge to lead activities related to the development and deployment of grid computing infrastructure for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In 2015 he joined the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Science Data Processor (SDP) design consortium as its Project Manager. Following a successful SDP Critical Design Review in 2019 he became a research team lead for SKA simulation and modelling work and is now Release Train Engineer for the SKA Regional Centre network.
