Entrepreneurial pathways to impact: Spinning-out your research

Wednesday, 29 September 2021, 2.00pm to 5.30pm

Cambridge Innovation Capital

An intensive afternoon featuring case studies and building around a ‘tasting menu’ of ideas and expertise, culminating with an opportunity to meet the experts in person for conversation and networking over refreshments, this in-person event is a fantastic opportunity to hear from those who’ve done it and those who can help you to do it too.

The event features:

  • Keynote speaker and serial academic entrepreneur Professor Jim Huntington, CEO of ApcinteX and Z Factor, COO of SDS Therapeutics, and Founder of XO1, SuperX and Cambridge ProteinWorks, will share his experience of translating science into spin-out companies
  • Introduction from Professor Andy Neely, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Business and Enterprise Relations at the University of Cambridge
  • Case studies from Riverlane, Inivata and Porotech
  • Expert knowledge on developing your idea, raising funds and creating a spin-out company
  • Introductions to key potential partners in Cambridge and an opportunity to meet the experts in person for conversation and networking over refreshments

We are pleased to host this event in person at St Catharine’s College, where we shall take advantage of the College’s modern facilities against a suitable backdrop of history and excellence.

This event is supported by the Babraham Institute, the Wellcome Sanger Institute, Deeptech Labs and Start Codon.
