C2D3 Industry

is the Industry engagement arm of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre serving as a gateway for external organizations. C2D3 Industry enables the application of academic research to local, national and international organizations contributing to bridge the gap between Industry and Research. We support and connect the data science and AI research community at Cambridge with the Industry and third sector. Our industry partnerships has positively impacted a range of sectors such as: insurance, asset management, data science, microbiology and process mining and many more.

 

Partnerships Opportunities

We welcome collaborations and partnerships with business and industry across all the areas and disciplines and would like to hear from new partners. We recognise that each partnership is different and needs tailored approaches and services, therefore we build bespoke partnership to tackle complex issues within organizazions. To tackle this individuality, we offer short or long-term collaboration models, for examples:

Aviva logo

Aviva are a multinational organisation, specialists in general insurance, life insurance and pensions. Aviva are the founding industry partner of C2D3. Cambridge and Aviva have partnered on several activities including PhD studentships, training courses, executive education, and research projects. More details and annual reports can be found here.

Eagle genomics logo

Eagle Genomics are experts in microbiome science and based at the Wellcome Genome Campus, in Hinxton, Cambridgeshire. The engagement started with an Industry-Academic Roundtable event, with discussions around gaps in research, identifying available data sets, and potential future funding calls. One of the main aims for the engagement is joint research.

Celonis logo

Celonis are experts in process mining who’s customers are major global organisations. For several years C2D3 have worked with Celonis' Academic Alliance team to deliver seminars and masterclasses (to students and industry). Student internships/summer placements are next on the agenda with Cambridge.

About us

The Cambridge Centre for Data-Driven Discovery (C2D3) brings together researchers and expertise from across the academic departments and industry to drive research into the analysis, understanding and use of data science and AI. C2D3 is an Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge.
