The AI Club is an initiative to bring together the biomedical machine learning and bioinformatics communities in Cambridge to discuss common themes and explore different topics and methodologies. We hope these monthly sessions will open conversations to inform, inspire, and connect researchers from all levels on the topics of computational biology, AI and bioinformatics.

This month’s theme is…
AI in Spatial Biology
We are excited to welcome you to the AI Club event.

At our upcoming AI Club event, we are delighted to host Francesca Drummer and Veronika Kedlian from EMBL-EBI, who will present cutting-edge research at the intersection of spatial genomics and computational biology. Their work spans the development of computational methods for single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, as well as applications in understanding complex diseases and human tissue ageing. We warmly invite scientists from across Cambridge to join us for these exciting talks, followed by discussion and networking over beer and pizza.

Please note that the AI Club event time has been updated. Going forward, the session will take place from 18:00–19:00, 30-minute shift from the previous schedule.

About the Organisers

The AI Club is a joint initiative, currently organised by Namshik Han’s group at the Milner Therapeutics Institute and Florian Markowetz’s group at Cancer Research UK. Greg Hannon’s and Mireia Crispin-Ortuzar’s groups also support this initiative and we are welcoming everyone who wants to help, whatever lab/group/company they are from!
