Explore practical yet critically-informed approaches to Python coding at this five-day online Data School, convened by Dr Eleanor Dare, Assistant Research Professor at Cambridge Digital Humanities, and international colleagues. At this School, we will learn and investigate coding through the critically-informed theme of Worldbuilding, where participants from all sectors and backgrounds are invited to ‘begin constructing speculative worlds grounded in material realities rather than techno-utopian abstraction’ (Popo, 2026). Resisting uncritical ‘hype cycles’, our course will equip participants with the skills to approach coding in grounded, just and critical ways.
