Accessibility

The Howard Threatre has level access to the ground floor, and lift access to other floors. An accessible toilet is located on the lower ground floor. Further information on College accessibility is available here.

Disability parking: Please email admin@c2d3.cam.ac.uk to arrange disability parking.

Travel

University of Cambridge map

The University encourages sustainable travel into and around Cambridge, and in turn we encourage sustainable travel to and from the event. University travel pages provide some useful information, including options for travel to the Downing site, next to Downing College.

Bicycle: Bicycles can be wheeled past the Porters Lodge, there are bicycle stands round to the left.

Train: Cambridge Station has a frequent train service from London Kings Cross, London Liverpool Street, and services to and from Ely, Peterborough, and Norwich etc.

Walking: Cambridge Station is a 16 minute walk (0.8 miles) to Downing College.

Taxi: The taxi rank is directly in front of the train station. Taxis may be booked via Panther Taxis on 01223 715715. We encourage colleagues and delegates to share taxi rides where possible to reduce congestion on our roads.

Park and Ride: If you are driving to Cambridge, Park and Ride is recommended for accessing the central city. There are five Park and Ride locations around the city, all with a frequent and convenient bus services, for £3 return.

Car: Parking at Downing College is not available. Other Cambridge city centre car parks are available.

COVID safety

The event is organised in line with the University's and Downing College's current Covid regulations. Please read the information sheet for full conference safety guidelines.

  • Masks must be worn if entering the Porter's Lodge
  • Mask wearing is encouraged throughout the conference venue, in the lecture theatre, and when approaching buffet or drinks stations.
  • Take advantage of the outdoor areas at Downing during breaks
  • Take a lateral flow test before arriving, if you have access to one
