Wed, 26 Nov 2025 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Convenor: Dr Estara Arrant (Cambridge University Library)
This session is designed for researchers with no prior coding experience. We will cover essential principles and strategies for navigating and working with code, using the popular programming language Python. Participants will utilise the Jupyter Notebooks platform to learn how to analyse texts. This will give participants a solid foundation in the basics of coding for Humanities research. The software we will use is free to download, compatible with most computers, and we will offer support with installation and setup before the session.
Target audience: Our CDH Methods workshops have limited places and prioritise students and staff at the University of Cambridge. However, if space is available, we welcome all participants interested in learning about and applying digital methods and tools in their research. This session may be particularly relevant to:
PhD students in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Early Career Researchers in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Other Cambridge students and staff welcome
