Department of Medicine
We are seeking a full-time Bioinformatician to join the research team led by Professor Andres Floto in the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge.
You will be based in the Department of Medicine at the new Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart and Lung Research Institute on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing Machine Learning solutions to analysis of bacterial genomes for several studies ongoing in the Floto group, develop new machine learning algorithms to design new antibiotics, and to provide bioinformatics support to several computational projects within the Floto Lab.
The Department of Medicine provides an exciting multidisciplinary research environment with strong collaborations with the WT Sanger Institute, EMBL-EBI, and University Departments of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Engineering. There may be, in principle, an opportunity to undertake a full time or part time PhD alongside this post.
