C2D3 Early Career Researcher Seed Funding 2024

C2D3 will be awarding £15,000 of Seed Funding to Early Career Researchers, up to £5,000 per project. C2D3 would like to invite University of Cambridge Early Career Researchers to apply for a seed fund. The aim of the funds are to provide a step towards an independent research career. 

Applications should focus on cross-disciplinary data science or AI.  Preference will be given towards cross-disciplinary activities that address one or more of the following: 

  • Address one or more emerging needs, with topics such as Perverse Consequences, Risks, Ethics, Robustness, Trustworthy, Explainable and Responsible AI  
  • Foster external industry collaborations  
  • Increase engagement opportunities for underrepresented groups 

Examples of interdisciplinary projects that could be funded are: 

  • Providing a short internship for a PhD student, with yourself as the mentor  
  • Collaboration with a short industry project  
  • Host a skills-development or research workshop 
  • Building a network to pursue your next project 

Who can apply? 

Funding is open to Early Career Researchers who are: a) employed within a University department and b) working within the remit of this call.
