the call for poster submissions for the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk’s (CSER) Cambridge Conference on Catastrophic Risk closes at UK midnight (BST) on Sunday 17 May 2026.

The Cambridge Conference on Catastrophic Risk (CCCR 2026), aims to bring together the existential and catastrophic risk community, with a focus this year on the governance challenges shaping tomorrow’s world. The programme features novel insights from across the field, with in-depth sessions on addressing climate breakdown, developments in tech and AI, and emerging health-security risks. The conference invites participants to connect with others working on the most pressing systemic risks we face.

Submissions are welcomed for the following sessions:
•    Governing catastrophic climate risk 
•    AI and emerging technologies
•    Geopolitics and nuclear weapons
•    The future of pandemic preparedness
•    Open poster session (any submissions related to existential and catastrophic risk are welcomed)

All successful submissions will be invited to present a poster and will also be offered a 5 minute lightning talk as part of the conference. 

Attendees are expected to cover the full cost of attending the conference. However, we are able to offer a limited number of needs-assessed bursaries to assist with ticket costs, travel or accommodation.

Main authors will be notified by Friday 5 June 2026.
