Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in studying the three-dimensional organization of the genome, in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. The successful candidate will join the team of Dr. Gamze Gursoy, working on topics related to computational biology and genomics.
Role holders will be expected to plan and manage their own research and administration, with guidance if required. They will be expected to take an active role within the research group, including assisting in the development of graduate student research skills as well as participation in and planning/delivery of seminars and conferences relating to the research area.
Successful candidates will have completed (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering or a relevant field and have relevant background knowledge in omics data generation, genome engineering, 3D genome, and computational biology. This is a hybrid wetlab and computational position, and the successful candidate is expected to have experience in molecular biology and omics techniques in the wetlab setting. Additional knowledge in transcriptomics, cancer, and/or neurodegenerative diseases is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate closely with the Department of Genetics.
