A position exists, for a Research Assistant/Associate in the Department of Engineering, to work on AI for Digital Manufacturing. The post holder will be located in West Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.
The main responsibility of the post holder is to conduct high-quality research and development in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications to digital manufacturing. This includes designing, implementing, and evaluating novel AI techniques such as machine learning for addressing various challenges and opportunities in digital manufacturing, such as smart design, quality control, predictive maintenance, and process optimization. The post holder will also work closely with other researchers in the team and university and with external partners to integrate the developed AI solutions into real-world applications and platforms. The post holder will also contribute to writing scientific papers, reports, and proposals, as well as presenting the results at relevant conferences and workshops.
The key responsibilities and duties are research, planning and organising, and liaison and networking.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are research experience in artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, and software/hardware development.
