CHAI’s mission is to co-create and apply causal AI methods to tackle key healthcare challenges, benefiting patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other stakeholders. 

The CHAI Hub’s Research Call Round 2 goal is to support academic researchers (including Post-doctoral Research Associates, PDRAs) to collaborate with industry partners, clinicians, and policy and regulatory experts, aligned to CHAI’s overarching mission.

Funding details:

• Total fund for Round 2: ~250,000 (they expect to fund 3-5 projects)
• Funding: 80% FEC (in line with EPSRC guidance)
• Duration: 6 - 9 months (if clearly justified, can be a maximum duration of 12 months; successful applicants will start their projects in late 2026 / early 2027)
• Deadline: Wednesday 13th May 2026, 11.59pm
