Cambridge Infectious Diseases IRC (CID) and Cambridge Centre for Data-Driven Discovery IRC (C2D3) aim to coordinate University of Cambridge participation in this year’s Trinity Challenge on on data-driven solutions to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in low and middle-income countries.
The Trinity Challenge is a charity supporting the creation of data-driven and analytics solutions to help protect the world against global health threats. Dame Sally Davies (Master of Trinity College and UK Special Envoy on AMR) is the convenor and Marc Mendelson (Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Cape Town) is the director.
The initial Challenge in 2021 asked teams to deliver data-driven solutions to predict, respond to and recover from pandemics. It received applications from 340 teams across 60 countries and distributed a prize fund of £5.7 million across eight winning initiatives.
This second edition is focused on how data and analytics can reduce the impact of antimicrobial resistance and bacterial infections in low- and middle-income communities. The prize is £1 million.
