Applications are invited for a University Assistant/Associate Professor in Innovative Computational Methods. The successful candidate will join the Engineering Department's Information Engineering Division to add to its broad expertise in computational methods. Key to new advances in modern data analysis are innovations in computational methodology and algorithms. Possible areas of specialisation for the post include large-scale statistical methodology and inference, Quantum Internet and Communications, Brain-inspired Computing and High-dimensional sensing/imaging applications. The holder of this post will be well placed to start a new topic of research in the department, or to enhance an already existing area of expertise. They will be expected to contribute significantly to areas of our undergraduate teaching programme including Information, Signal Processing and Control, to our MPhil in Machine Learning and Machine Intelligence, and to advance our portfolio of collaborations with other Divisions of the department, UKRI funding bodies and industry.
In exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a small supplement to the salary range stated for this role for a five-year period.
