Innovate UK is recruiting Expert Assessors in AI/ML; particularly senior technical leaders with current practice from both industry and academia. They are looking for people who can make evidence-based technical judgements on differentiation, feasibility, evaluation quality, and delivery risk (data/compute/deployment) and commercial viability, ideally with a mix of recent AI/ML exposure and experience leading delivery. Of particularly interest are people with recent (ideally last 2–3 years) expertise in one or more of:
- Foundation models & transformers (LLMs, multimodal, adaptation, evaluation)
- Model efficiency (quantisation, distillation, inference optimisation, deployment constraints)
- Safety/robustness/assurance and interpretability
- Graph ML / GNNs, diffusion & generative models, RL
- Applied ML engineering (data pipelines, MLOps, benchmarking, deployment)
