The Careers Beyond Academia Seminar Series at the University of Cambridge provides PhD students and early-career researchers (ECRs) with realistic, experience-based insights into career pathways outside academia whilst offer industry and organisations a unique route to talent pipeline. Through invited talks from professionals working across industry and organisations, the series helps researchers understand how to successfully transition their skills and expertise into impactful roles beyond the university environment.

We invite organisations and professionals to partner with us by contributing to this seminar series and sharing their career journeys with the next generation of Cambridge scholars.

About the Seminar Series

Each seminar typically includes:

  • A 45–60 minute talk from an invited speaker

  • An interactive Q&A session with attendees

Talks focus on practical insights and real-world experiences rather than recruitment presentations, allowing researchers to gain a deeper understanding of industry careers.
