Biography

Enrique is an experienced AI expert with industry and academic track record. He is currently starting a new AI venture that is now in stealth mode and is a partner and CSO at Atchai Ltd., where he is helping other startups, late-stage companies, and the UK government develop their AI capabilities while developing an understanding of what the market needs. His major drivers are about (automating) decision making and scarce data (information).
He is an associate professor at INAOE with 70+ academic papers published in top-tier journals and conferences in AI, including a book on multi agent learning. His academic interests lie in the intersection between machine learning, AI, and economic theory. He has been recognised in numerous occasions, including a best paper award at UAI. He is a member of the board of directors of the Association for Trading Agent Research (ATAR) and several program committee boards in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Until recently, he was Director at Prowler.io, a UK startup developing a decision-making platform, where he helped ignite its machine learning superpowers.
